Easter Ellister

Argyll and Bute

A farm in the S of the Rhinns of Islay, Easter Ellister extends to 242 ha (600 acres) and occupies an elevated position 2¼ miles (3.5 km) east northeast of Portnahaven. The original farmhouse is located to the northwest of the A847 road and dates from 1880. This and other houses built nearby in the first decade of the 21st century (Ellister Lodge and An Linnean) are let as self-catering holiday accommodation. The farm is surrounded on three sides by a significant block of coniferous plantation forest.
