Esknish

Argyll and Bute

An old clachan and dairy farm in the centre of Islay in the Inner Hebrides, Esknish lies to the southeast of the A846 road, 2 miles (3 km) west southwest of Ballygrant. Long the home of the MacDougall family, Esknish Farm was the last commercial milk-producer on the island by 2009. This was once a larger scattered settlement, and the footings of former cottages can be seen.
