A location in the south of the Kintyre peninsula of Argyll and Bute, Oatfield lies 1¼ miles (2 km) south southwest of Stewarton and 2½ miles (4 km) southwest of Campbeltown. At the centre of a small estate of the same name is the substantial B-listed Oatfield House, which dates from 1780 and was extended in the 1890s by Alexander Fleming (1824 - 1909), who had made his fortune as a partner in a Glasgow iron-works.
