Westcraigs

West Lothian

A location at the east end of Main Street in Blackridge (West Lothian), Westcraigs has developed as an eastern extension of the village. It is shown as a large house on the First Edition of the Ordnance Survey map (mid-19th C.), which served for a time as a coaching inn and now forms the Craig Inn Community Centre. The Blackridge Community Museum is located in this building and behind is Westcraigs Hill. Westriggs Railway Station once lay a quarter-mile (0.5 km) to the southwest and beside this was Westcraigs Junction between the Airdrie-Bathgate Railway and a branch to Shotts. The B718 Westcraigs Road leads south to Harthill.
