A village in West Lothian, East Whitburn lies immediately to the south of the M8 motorway, a quarter-mile (0.5 km) east of Whitburn and 1½ miles (2.5 km) west of Blackburn. The modest East Whitburn House dates from the early 19th C. and is now C-listed. The village expanded significantly to the south in the early years of the 21st C. with the development of private housing.
