A small settlement at the head of Brae Wick in the Northmavine district of the Shetland Mainland, Braewick is located 2¾ miles (4.5 km) west northwest of Hillswick. There is a camping and caravan site located here. The small Loch of Braewick lies behind Brae Wick, separated by a shingle bar which was breached by a storm in 1936. This caused the loch to drain, exposing the timbers of a Viking boat.
