A crofting township located on the northwest coast of the West Mainland of Shetland, just to the northwest of Sandness. Melby has a pier on the east side of the small point called the Ness of Melby. The Holm of Melby is a small island lying offshore and a mile (1.5 km) to the south is the Hill of Melby.
