Sound


Shetland

A settlement which has grown to become a district of Lerwick in Shetland, Sound is located at the head of the Voe of Sound, 1¼ miles (2 km) west southwest of the town centre. Once two distinct settlements of Uppersound and Lowersound, the pair are now combined. Sound includes significant social housing developments, a primary school (opened 1977) and two churches; Lerwick Congregational Church and Lerwick Baptist Church (at Quoys).
