The main settlement on the island of Scalpay in the Outer Hebrides, Scalpay is located in the northwest of the island, between North Harbour and South Harbour, 4 miles (7 km) southeast of Tarbet (Harris). The Scalpay Bridge lands a short distance to the north and the village benefits from a small harbour, community shop, post office and a sizeable Free Church. The primary school closed in 2012.
