A location in Galloway, Myrton lies to the northeast of Monreith House, 1½ miles (2 km) east of Port William. The ruined Myrton Castle was built on a 12th century motte, with a ruined chapel nearby. The White Loch of Myrton lies to the west, with a small settlement at Clachan of Myrton to the northeast.
