A location in the northwest corner of Dumfries & Galloway, next to the border with South Ayrshire, Laight lies to the south of Laight Moor 1½ miles (2 km) north of Cairnryan. The location comprises Little Laight, on Little Laight Hill, and Meikle Laight to the southeast. At Little Laight is the Taxing Stone and the remains of a large gun battery built to defend the military installations in Loch Ryan during the Second World War.
