Pitcorthie

Fife

A location in Carnbee parish (E Fife), Pitcorthie lies a mile (1.5 m) northeast of Colinsburgh and 1¼ miles (2 km) north of Kilconquhar. Pitcorthie House lies at the centre of an old estate and is a single-storey replacement, built in 1967, for an early 19th century mansion which was destroyed by fire. Pitcorthie Home Farm lies to the south. There is a fine standing stone at Easter Pitcorthie farm, a half-mile (1 km) to the east.

There are two other Pitcorthies in Fife and, confusingly, both also have standing stones.
