Buchanhaven

Aberdeenshire

A former fishing village which now forms a northern suburb of Peterhead, Buchanhaven overlooks the mouth of the River Ugie a mile (1.5 km) northwest of the town centre and 2 miles (3 km) east southeast of Inverugie. A small harbour and Ugie Hospital are located here. Buchanhaven School dates from 1958, while Buchanhaven Heritage Centre occupies the former school on Ugie Road, built in 1850.
