Lower Badcall

Highland

Located on the eastern shore of Badcall Bay in the North West Highlands, the settlement of Lower Badcall is situated a half-mile (1 km) east of Upper Badcall and 2 miles (3 km) south southeast of Scourie. The Eddrachillis Fishing Station was built here in the mid-19th century by the Duke of Sutherland to support an industry based on the netting of salmon. This substantial long two-storey building, with associated ice-house, is now B-listed and remains in use as a base for commercial fish-farming activities.
