Ellridgehill or Elsrickle, a village near the southern horder of Walston parish, E Lanarkshire, 4¼ miles NNE of Biggar. It is a pleasant place, in a picturesque situation, and decidedly superior to most small- Scottish villages. It has a Free church and a school. Some stone coffins, a number of years ago, were exhumed at the E end of the village.
