A summit of the S Grampians in NE Angus, Peat Hill rises to 481m (1578 feet) 2¾ miles (4.5 km) northwest of Kirkton of Menmuir and 6 miles (10 km) west of Edzell. The hill of Putney Maol reaches exactly the same height a half-mile (1 km) to the northwest.
