Dungavel Hill

For the most part cloaked in plantation forestry, Dungavel Hill rises to 457m (1499 feet) 5½ miles (9 km) south southwest of Strathaven in South Lanarkshire. Its summit is marked by an Ordnance Survey triangulation pillar. The Glengavel Reservoir lies a mile (1.5 km) to the southwest, while Dungavel Castle (HM Prison Dungavel) lies 1½ miles (2.5 km) to the northwest. There is another Dungavel Hill 17 miles (27 km) to the east.
