White Hill

A summit of South Lanarkshire, White Hill rises to 412m (1351 feet) on the right bank of the River Clyde, 1¼ miles (2 km) north northeast of Abington. The remains of a circular rampart which once enclosed an ancient settlement can be observed at the base its western slopes and a Roman road passes this. Beyond, on the opposite bank of the Clyde, are the remains of a motte-and-bailey castle.
