Highland Aviation Museum

Situated on Dalcross Industrial Estate, next to Inverness Airport and 2½ miles (4 km) southwest of Ardersier, the Highland Aviation Museum is a modest museum which was setup by a group of local enthusiasts and opened to the public in 2004. Located on what was once RAF Dalcross, the museum includes several privately-owned aircraft together with others which have been purchased. These include a Hawker Hunter F1, a Tornado GR1, a Buccaneer bomber and the cockpit of a English Electric Lightning, all displayed outside. In the small visitor centre displays illustrate the history of aviation in the Highlands, aviation pioneer Captain E.E. Fresson and the Royal Air Force in the Highlands during World War II. Other displays describe modern aircraft, such as those based at the nearby RAF bases at Kinloss and Lossiemouth.

The museum is currently only open at weekends and on public holidays.
