Quoich, Loch

A reservoir located in the Lochaber district of Highland Council Area, Loch Quoich lies at the head of Glen Garry, 2 miles (3 km) west of the head of Loch Garry. Glen Quoich lies to the north containing a northern arm of the loch as well as the waters of the River Quoich. The reservoir is retained by a concrete-covered rock-filled embankment dam at its eastern end. This is the the largest rockfill dam in Scotland: 320m (1049 feet) in length, 90m (295 feet) wide at its base and 38m (124 feet) high.
