Gala Water

A river of east central Scotland, the Gala Water rises in the Moorfoot Hills to the south of Gorebridge and flows 21 miles (33 km) southwards through Stow and Galashiels to join the River Tweed 2 miles (3 km) west of Melrose. Its main tributaries are the Heriot Water, Lugate Water and the Cockholm Burn.
