Friars' Nose

A summit at the eastern end of the Whiteadder Reservoir in the southeast of East Lothian, the Friars' Nose rises to 257m (843 feet) close to the boundary with the Scottish Borders. There is a well-defined early Iron-Age hill fort on its summit. Thought to represent two periods of occupation, the fort is surrounded by a series of concentric ramparts and contains the remains of two round stone huts.
