Invergowrie Burn
A stream which cuts across the boundary between Dundee City and Perth & Kinross, the Invergowrie Burn forms at the merger of the Fowlis Burn and the Lochee Burn, immediately to the northwest of the Swallow Hotel. It then flows down the eastern edge of Invergowrie to fall into Invergowrie Bay, having completed a course of barely a mile (1.6 km). Bullionfield Paper Mill was established alongside the burn in 1850 (on the site of a former bleachfield) and operated until 1965. Its buildings remain. There was a flour mill further downstream, and evidence of its buildings and mill-dam can also still be seen.
