Parish of Stirling

Stirling is a small parish, which lies on the River Forth in Stirling Council Area, some 5 miles (8 km) south of Dunblane in Stirling and 6 miles (9 km) west of Alloa in Clackmannanshire.

It is located in the old county of Stirlingshire, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.

The parish has an area of 6.4 sq. km (2.4 sq. miles) and includes the settlement of Stirling. Stirling lies next to St Ninians parish. The boundaries of this parish were modified among significant changes recommended by the Boundary Commissioners after the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1889.
