Parish of Stenness

Stenness is a coastal island parish, which lies in Orkney Council Area, some 4 miles (7 km) east of Stromness and 8 miles (13 km) west of Kirkwall in Orkney.

It is located in the old county of Orkney, which disappeared following the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1974.

The parish has an area of 36.8 sq. km (14.2 sq. miles). Stenness has 5 neighbouring parishes; namely Birsay & Harray, Firth, Orphir, Sandwick and Stromness.
