Cashlie Power Station

A power station on the eastern end of the Stronuich Reservoir in Glen Lyon (Perth and Kinross), Cashlie began generation in 1959 as part of the Breadalbane Hydro-Electric Power Scheme. Water descends through an underground tunnel and pipeline from Loch an Daimh, located 2½ miles (4 km) to the north, falling a vertical distance of 142m (465 feet). The tall station building is faced in local stone and contains a large single turbine with a capacity of 11 MW. The tailrace discharges directly into the Stronuich Reservoir.
