Dalavich

Argyll and Bute

A village of Argyll and Bute, Dalavich lies on the west shore of Loch Awe, 8 miles (13 km) southwest of Taychreggan. Built as a forestry village in the 1950s, it lies in the shadow of Inverliever Forest. A road over the hills to Kilmelford passes Loch Avich. Marble was once quarried nearby and, more recently, holiday chalets and cycle routes have been developed in the area. The Dalavich Primary School closed in 1997.
