Monifieth South Church, Monifieth

A residential town in Angus situated to the east of Dundee on the Firth of Tay, Monifieth owes much of its modern development to the prosperity of Dundee. The parish church, built in 1812, is said to have been built on the site of an earlier chapel that was the final resting place of St Andrew. An Art Deco War Memorial built in 1922 is surrounded by an impressive annual floral display. Monifieth is noted as a golfing centre, its links course being used as a qualifier for the British Open.
