Low Valleyfield
Fife

A linear roadside village in W Fife, situated on the Firth of Forth a mile (1.5 km) east of Culross and west of the Bluther Burn, Low Valleyfield lies at the base of a steep slope (Valleyfield Brae) below High Valleyfield. Formerly part of the Valleyfield Estate, its buildings date from the 18th Century, older than the 20th Century mining village of High Valleyfield to the north. A monument commemorates the site of the colliery to the east of the village, with an entrance to the Valleyfield Woodland Park beyond, on the opposite side of the road. Low Valleyfield has a small industrial estate.
