Kirknewton
West LothianA dormitory settlement in West Lothian, Kirknewton lies to the west of the Pentland Hills, 10 miles (16 km) southwest of Edinburgh. It developed in the late 19th century in association with quarrying and oil shale mining. A military airfield established during the Second World War is now used as a gliding school.
