28 March 2007:
Mangersta has a small but steady pop of 18 which increases from month to month with the contiual flow of various members of the households who for one reason or another but mainly for work reasons travel home.
The village is still a working village and although not at mid 80 levels, peat is still cut, silage has taken over from hay making, sheep numbers have declined and a few still have cattle although not for milk as through to the mid 80s' but for beef.
There are two houses to be built in the near future which is good to see as it will bring a young family to the village. Due to its layout Mangersta is and always will be a small village, with a limited number of crofts and general topography it is nevergoing to be the size of Valtos,(approx,35-40 houses).
