Black Spout

An impressive waterfall on the Edradour Burn located in the Black Spout Wood ¾ mile (1.2 km) east southeast of the centre of Pitlochry. The water descends through a total distance of 36m (120 feet) over a series of steps and can be observed from a well-positioned viewing platform which overhangs the gorge. This substantial wooden platform was funded by the Rotary Club of Pitlochry and constructed by Aberdeen University Officers Training Corps in the summer of 1989.

Nearby is an ancient circular homestead which was excavated as part of Perthshire Archaeology Week in 2005.
