Turnberry Bay

A broad sandy bay on the eastern shore of the Firth of Clyde, Turnberry Bay extends from Balkenna, to the south of the village of Turnberry in South Ayrshire, to Turnberry Point in the north. Behind the bay is a pronounced raised beach, together with a dune system which is designated as a Site of Special Scientific (SSSI) for its sand dune habitats and invertebrate fauna, and the Ailsa course, one of Turnberry's championship golf courses.
