A summit of East Ayrshire, Benbrack rises to 495m (1622 feet) 3 miles (5 km) east of Dalmellington. Its lower slopes are cloaked with plantation coniferous forest. Another Benbrack is located 3 miles (5 km) to the south, in Dumfries and Galloway.
