The larger of two small reservoirs in West Lothian, Morton Lower Reservoir is located between the Morton Burn and the Linhouse Water 2½ miles (4 km) southeast of Livingston. Retained by a long earth embankment dam, it covers an area of 9.7 ha (23 acres) and is operated by Scottish Water for the supply of drinking-water. It is surrounded by a strip of pine plantation.
