A hill representing the northernmost extent of the Pentland Hills, Caerketton Hill rises to 478m (1568 feet) a half-mile (1 km) south of Swanston, to the west of the A702 road and on the border between the City of Edinburgh and Midlothian. The artificial ski slope of the Midlothian Ski Centre occupies the northeastern slopes of the hill.
