A stream in the Kyle district of South Ayrshire, the Water of Fail rises as headstreams to the southeast of Craigie. It flows southwest to Fail and then southeast passing to the northeast of Tarbolton before falling into the River Ayr at Failford, on the border of East Ayrshire, having completed a course of 6 miles (10 km).
