Playhouse Cinema

Occupying a position in the middle of the north side of Murray Street in Central Perth, overlooking bus stances, the B-listed Playhouse Cinema was built in the Art Deco style in 1933 by Alexander Cattanach (1895 - 1977). It was recast with three screens in the late 1970's and refurbished and extended to the current seven screens in 1999. It remains independent of the cinema chains yet offers a full programme of the latest films.
