A small reservoir retained by an earth embankment dam in Stirling Council Area, Cocksburn is located a mile (1.5 km) north east of Bridge of Allan, which it supplies with drinking water, and 2 miles (3 km) southeast of Dunblane. Known locally as Pendreich, it is operated by Scottish Water and covers an area of 6.8 ha (16 acres). It supports a brown trout fishery, run by Stirling Castle Angling Club.
