Houb of Scatsta

A semi-enclosed body of water at the head of the Voe of Scatsta, within Sullom Voe on the N coast of the Shetland Mainland, the Houb of Scatsta lies immediately to the northeast of Scatsta Airport and 4 miles (6.5 km) northeast of Brae. A considerable volume of peat excavated during the construction of the Scatsta airfield during World War II was used to partially in-fill the Houb of Scatsta.
