A low-lying rocky island, Ormal is one of the largest of the Ve Skerries on the outer margins of St. Magnus Bay, to the west of the Mainland of Shetland, and 3¾ miles (6 km) northwest of Papa Stour. The Ve Skerries Lighthouse is located here.
