An elongated hill which comprises a series of summits along a mile-long (1.5 km) SW-NE axis in East Ayrshire, close to the border with South Lanarkshire, Blackside rises to 417m (1368 feet) to the southwest of Wedder Hill, 3 miles (5 km) northeast of Sorn. Three subsidiary summits are named; Mid Hill, rising to 409m (1341 feet), Reppoch Knowe which reaches 406m (1332 feet) and Blacksidend, the most southwesterly, rising to 411m (1348 feet).
