Loch Finlas

A reservoir which opened in 1905 in the south of East Ayrshire Council Area, Loch Finlas lies 2 miles (3 km) west of Loch Doon and 4 miles (6.5 km) south of Bellsbank. The border with South Ayrshire runs along the southwestern shore of the loch. Retained by an earth embankment dam, it is operated by Scottish Water for the supply of drinking-water and covers an area of 89.2 ha (220 acres).
