Loch Ossian

A loch of the Lochaber district of Highland Council Area, Loch Ossian lies within the Corrour Forest, between the lochs of Treig to the northwest and Ericht to the southeast. The River Ossian flows from the northeast of the loch through Strath Ossian towards Loch Guilbinn. To the north of the loch lies a deer forest. Loch Ossian comprises the larger part of the Rannoch Lochs Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), designated because of its importance as a breeding site for black-throated divers (Gavia arctica).
