One of a line of hills on the northwest side of Glen App, in the extreme SW of South Ayrshire, Green Benan comprises two summits, the higher rising to 308m (1010 feet) with the other (Mickroch Hill) just slightly lower. Carlock Hill lies a half-mile (1 km) to the northeast, with Milgarva between.
