Knockormal Hill

A summit in South Ayrshire, Knockormal Hill rises to 215m (705 feet) a half-mile (1 km) southeast of Balsalloch Hill and 1¼ miles (2 km) south of Lendalfoot. Moak Hill lies on its eastern flank and Lochton Hill to the south. There is a prominent telecommunications mast on its summit. The rocks here belong to the Balcreuchan Group, part of the Ballantrae ophiolite complex, an unusual preserved slice of ocean crust.
