Loch Gleann a' Bhearraidh

A small reservoir partially surrounded by plantation forest in Argyll and Bute, Loch Gleann a' Bhearraidh is located a mile (1.8 km) northwest of Lerags and 2 miles (3 km) south southwest of Oban, which it supplies with drinking water. Retained by an earth embankment dam, it extends to an area of 17.2 ha (42 acres) and was opened as a reservoir in the 19th C. It is now operated by Scottish Water and supports a popular recreational trout fishery.
