Butter Burn

A stream entirely contained within the Glentrool Forest of NW Dumfries and Galloway, the Butter Burn rises on the southeastern slopes of Garwall Hill and flows east for 1½ miles (2.6 km) to fall into the Water of Minnoch at Palgowan Bridge. It is recorded erroneously on the Ordnance Survey Landranger map (2017) as the Butler Burn. The little Loch Arroch lies on the course of the burn, close to its source.
