The Well of the Lecht

(Well of the Lecht)

A white stone plaque erected in 1754 records the fact that five companies of the 33rd Regiment built the military road 'from here to the Spey'. The plaque is located above a natural spring by the A939 Cock Bridge to Tomintoul road, about a mile (1.5 km) north of the Lecht summit.
