The Whithorn Story Visitor Centre

This centre which is located in the village of Whithorn in Dumfries and Galloway, close to the Whithorn Priory, highlights the importance of this area in terms of Christianity in Scotland. Whithorn is accepted as the cradle of Christianity in Scotland and, as such, the centre tells the history of the village, including its role as a pilgrimage centre, and of Scotland's first saint, Ninian, who was believed to have landed here from Ireland. The centre has an audio-visual presentation as well as various historical and archaeological artefacts on display.
